This web series created and written by Karan Anshuman, Puneet Krishna and Vineet Krishna for Amazon Prime has obviously been primed to turn on the competitive heat on Netflix’s ‘Sacred Games’ which has already caught the fancy of the Indian OTP viewer. ‘Mirzapur’ is a sort of Wasseypur, a Gangster heartland that evokes similarities to Anuraag Kashyap’s epoch-making cinematic tome. Even though the characters and the nihilism enshrined may seem commonplace (with multiple gangster sagas already released) this series has the unique distinction of being believable. The novelty of the genre may have worn off, but the sincerity of effort and sharpness of craft cannot be brushed aside.

अमेजन प्राइम की वेब सीरीज "मिर्जापुर" इस वक्त चर्चा में है. इस सीरीज में उत्तर प्रदेश के उस शहर की कहानी है, जो अभी तक कायदे का शहर नहीं बन सका है. ऐसा शहर जो देखने में कस्बा ज्यादा नजर आता है. हकीकत में मिर्जापुर बहुत कुछ आज भी ऐसा ही है. आपस में छतों के मिलने, तंग गलियां, भीड़ और कोर्ट कचहरी इसके शहर होने का भ्रम है. कायदे से ये शहर "जंगल" की तरह है. वैसा ही जैसे अवध और पूर्वांचल के तमाम शहर अपनी सच्चाई में हैं.
