In America, you won’t find his 2016 big-budget sex comedy, Mastizaade. Was Netflix doing him a favor? In his newest stand-up comedy special, Vir Das: Losing It, the comedian references Mastizaade as a career mistake that newspaper critics in India called “career suicide,” and claimed his phone stopped ringing for five months after the film debuted.
